Passionate Love

Red Passion Vines are vigorous and hearty plants found along our garden fence. Humming birds, butterflies and other wildlife are attracted to their flame red flowers. This flower hides among Sylvania and Lantana found in in a portion of our garden dedicated to butterflies.

Passion vines are one of my favorite plants to grow. Their flowers are like delicate ornaments created by a master craftsman. Yet, you are God’s greatest creation for you were created in His image.

“So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.” — Genesis 1:27

“When I look at your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have set in place, what is man that you are mindful of him, and the son of man that you care for him? Yet you have made him a little lower than the heavenly beings and crowned him with glory and honor. You have given him dominion over the works of your hands; you have put all things under his feet, all sheep and oxen, and also the beasts of the field, the birds of the heavens, and the fish of the sea, whatever passes along the paths of the seas. O Lord, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth!” — Psalm 8:3-9

This crazy world can beat us down emotionally leaving us wondering if God cares. As you look at this flower remember God's passionate love for you. Draw close to Him so He can speak to you through His Word about how precious you are. He loves you so much that He sent His son, Jesus, to pay the penalty for your sin so you can be reunited to Him forever.

“Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? And not one of them will fall to the ground apart from your Father. But even the hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not, therefore; you are of more value than many sparrows.” — Matthew10:29-31

““For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God.” — John 3:16-18

In this new year, live your life with passion, so others are drawn to the source of your joy and peace…Jesus!
